I’ll make this update as brief as possible. On Monday, July 1st, I opened my Facebook app and had a pop-up telling me that my account was restricted for 9 hours due to a community standards violation. I could post but I couldn’t comment on anything. So bizarre! The strange thing is, under my account health status, it showed no restrictions. Plus, I didn’t receive any other notice indicating I had violated any standard.
I was able to post like normal after that 9 hour restriction but was then hit with another restriction 3 days later but this time for 24 hours. Again, during that time, Facebook showed my account and groups were in good standing without any restrictions. I’ve heard that the more “strikes” you get, the restrictions get longer and longer. I have no idea or reason to explain WHY my account has been targeted for this but it does make me super nervous as we head into one of the biggest month for deals.

I’ve decided to launch a Telegram Channel so that my hands are not tied down by Facebook. As we all know, there are MANY issues on the platform and creators have less and less control over their content and audience. I have no choice but to adapt to the changes and protect what I’ve built by having an alternate way for my followers to see my content!
What is Telegram?? First, do not think of it as another “social media” app but instead as a messenger. It’s very simple and straight forward. You simply join a “channel” that you want updates from (TONS of creators are already using it and loving it…I’ve just been slow to joining because change is hard).
Once you join my channel, you’ll be able to easily scroll through and just get the deals without any added distractions. You can of course join other Channels too! I will have much more liberty to openly share info about the deal that I can’t share on Facebook (they ban certain brand names, images, etc from being shared). I’m constantly afraid that something innocent posted will flag their bots and take it down or take my account away (it happens a LOT).
Are you closing the group? No, no, no!!! Nothing with the group will change UNLESS Facebook shuts me down. That’s a reality I don’t want to think of but truthfully, it could happen to anyone, anytime. I just can’t risk putting everything I’ve built into one basket. I need a fail safe and Telegram will work as my backup. And you just may like it even MORE than Facebook!
